| Ascension Economic Development Foundation
On April 03, 2006, the Ascension Economic Development Foundation (AEDF) was created for charitable purposes under I.R.S. Code 501 (c)(3) and pursuant to the above referenced Louisiana Nonprofit Corporation Law. The primary purpose of AEDC is to alleviate conditions of economic distress affecting Ascension Parish to the extent such purpose is a charitable purpose within the meaning of I.R.S. Code 501 (c)(3). AEDF receives charitable donations from businesses and individuals ("members") that are utilized for various projects in close coordination with the Ascension Economic Development Corporation.
AEDF is governed by a Board of Directors numbering not less than three (3) and not more than ten (10) as determined at the discretion of the Board. These members serve without compensation for one (1) year terms and are elected by the Board o Directors at the Annual Meeting of AEDF.
There are currently five (5) levels of membership in AEDF in terms of annual levels of contribution:
-Chairman’s Circle >$20,000
-President’s Council $10,000 - $19,999
-Executive Committee $ 5,000 - $ 9,999
-Economic Development Partner $ 2,500 - $ 4,999
-Community Partner $ 1,000 - $ 2,500

AEDC Staff
The Ascension Economic Development Corporation (AEDC) staff consists of three (3) professionals and one (1) clerical/administrative position. AEDC personnel also serve as staff to the Ascension Economic Development Foundation and the Ascension Parish Industrial Development Bond Board.
